India Ink

India Ink is an India Black Ale belonging to BJCP categories 23 and 14B. Unlike many IBAs, it evenly splits the IPA/Porter designations. Where many IBAs turn out as normal IPAs with black coloring, or Porters with extra hops, India Ink strikes a balance. This is accomplished by balancing dry roast with citrus hops to create a unique taste not often found in its parent styles. It is moderately bitter, with a light-medium body, a moderate roasted character, and strong citrus hop flavor.
