Dowry

Dowry is a Black Ale belonging to BJCP category 10C. It deviates slightly from the style through the use of belgian debittered black malt, and a yeast that imparts lager characteristics. It was originally brewed for weddings, and so is relatively low in alcohol content. Given its inspiration in old belgian ales, it is quite malty. It is very mildly bitter, with a medium body, a strong malty flavor, and a slight citrus hop character.
